Erie, CO: Real Estate Information

Erie, Colorado has gone through quite a transformation since the early 1990’s. With the high-tech boom of the 1990’s in this area, Erie was a very popular choice for home builders to build new homes. Downtown Erie had dirt roads up until just a few years ago. Erie was a very desirable place for people moving here in the late 90’s and into the 2000’s because it was close to Broomfield, Boulder and Longmont where a lot of employers were hiring people.

  • Current population for Erie is approximately 17,000 people.

  • Typical Starting Price: A 3-bedroom, 3-bath, 2,000 sq ft, 2-car garage house ranges in price from $235,000 to $245,000 as a starting point. As for property taxes, Erie Homes listed around $300,000 have annual property taxes at $2,200 approximately.

  • Sales statistics from 2006 and 2007. Median Sales Price in 2006 was $315,000 and in 2007 it decreased to $299,000. These statistics are for residential homes.

What should you know if you are considering an Erie Relocation? A big plus is Erie is starting build up their resident services. This year they finally got their own Recreation Center and Public Library which Erie residents are very, very happy about. There are some new stores and shops coming in the heart of Erie. One potential negative is that there is an active Landfill in Erie, just north of the Vista Ridge development.
