One of the challenges that Lafayette faces is living in the shadow of Louisville.  Louisville has received a lot of national attention lately, but Lafayette is very much a nice city and place to live like Louisville.  Also, some schools in Lafayette trail behind Louisville and Boulder with regards to their test scores.
